Exhibition - Epidemics, taking care of living things

How have we coped with epidemics for millennia?

Plague, smallpox, cholera, the 1918 influenza, AIDS and, very recently, Covid-19... For thousands of years, epidemics have affected human societies as well as other animal species.

Like a historical investigation, Epidemics, caring for the living looks back at these events that have disrupted life on every continent.

Through medical and ethnographic collections, natural history specimens and contemporary works, the exhibition shows that epidemics are not only a biological phenomenon, but also a social one. It also reveals just how closely linked human health, animal health and environmental health are.
