Description

In the past, the world of the Inuit knew no boundaries. Danes, Greenlanders and Canadians were linked by their dialects, their beliefs, their customs in harmony with the surrounding nature. But when the "white men" arrived, the interests of the great powers prevailed, new borders were drawn and families were separated.

Among them, a child grows up in the "West", far from his deported parents. When, as an adult, he returns to his native land to find his sisters, he feels the need to revive ancestral practices. The ritual hunt he undertakes takes on an initiatory dimension when he is confronted with a bear. The course of events is reversed: it is the animal that will have the power to keep him alive - or not.

In this engaging and sensitive tale, Simonetta Greggio brings to light primitive ways of life that are often forgotten or even disdained, and reminds us that man is only one of the hosts of this Earth.
